Hospedo — per-room payment policies, so a guest always knows what they owe
Charge a deposit on most rooms, full upfront on the suite, nothing online on the annex — set it once per room and every guest sees the right amount at booking.
Not every room in a property should be paid for the same way. A rural house might take a 30% deposit on its standard doubles, ask for the full amount upfront on the one deluxe suite that always books out, and take nothing online at all for the ground-floor annex the owner prefers to settle in person. Until now Hospedo had one payment rule for the whole property. This release lets an owner set the rule per room — and guarantees the guest always sees the correct amount before they commit.
In the owner's Pagos settings there's a payment rule for the whole property (deposit, full upfront, or request-only) and, underneath, a row for each room. Each room either follows the property default or carries its own rule. When a guest books a room, Hospedo works out what they owe from that room's effective rule: a deposit room shows the deposit due now and the balance due at check-in, a full-upfront room shows the whole amount now, and a request-only room takes nothing online and simply tells the guest they'll settle with the property on arrival. The amount is worked out and frozen at the moment of booking — so if the owner changes their pricing or policy the next day, a guest who is already mid-payment never sees the number move under them.
There's one small touch I care about. When an owner edits the property-wide default, the page now shows them exactly which rooms that change will affect — the ones still following the default — and leaves the rooms with their own rule untouched. It's a quiet guard against the classic mistake of changing one setting and silently shifting the behaviour of every room in the building.
This is part of the direct-booking payments work that lets a property take real online payments through their own bank, commission-free — the alternative to handing 15–20% to the big booking platforms. Per-room policies are one of the small pieces of realism that make a booking page feel like it was built for a specific house, not a generic template.
