Hospedo Now Shows a Visual Calendar and a WhatsApp Confirmation

Guests now see which dates are open before picking, and the confirmation WhatsApp message arrives already filled in with their booking details.

The Hospedo booking page just got two upgrades that close two of the most common friction points in a direct-booking flow — picking dates that aren't actually open, and getting in touch with the host after booking.

Before today, the booking page used two small date input boxes — the same controls every browser ships with, the same ones that have no idea whether the dates are even available. A guest could pick a check-in and a check-out, hit "View availability", and only then discover the property was already booked on those days. That's the wrong order to find out. Now there's a real month-view calendar in its place. Past dates show as ghosted and can't be picked. Blocked dates show with a strike-through and can't be picked either. The dates that are actually open are clearly visible — and as soon as the guest taps a check-in and a check-out, the range highlights and the night count appears in their own language ("3 noches", "3 nights", "3 nachten"). They can navigate forward up to a year ahead. If they accidentally try to pick a range that crosses a blocked date, the calendar tells them so before letting them submit — no more bookings rejected after the fact.

The second upgrade is to the WhatsApp confirmation. Hospedo already showed a "WhatsApp the host" button on the booking confirmation page and in the confirmation email. But tapping it opened a blank chat with the word "Ref: DC-2026-0042" or no message at all. Now, tapping the button opens a chat that's already filled in: the guest's name, the property name, the booking reference, and the check-in / check-out dates — all in the guest's language. Hosts get a message they can immediately recognize and respond to without asking the guest to repeat themselves. The pre-filled message contains nothing private: no email, no phone number, no special requests. Just the bookkeeping context the host needs to find the booking.

Both upgrades work as the default behavior for every property on Hospedo. There's no per-tenant configuration, no flag to flip, no extra setup. New properties added to Hospedo from this point inherit both improvements automatically. And if a property hasn't given Hospedo a WhatsApp number, the button simply doesn't appear — no broken links, just a quiet fallback to the confirmation email.

It's a small change with an outsized effect on the moments where guests drop off the funnel. Casa de Doña Concha — Hospedo's first hospitality client — is the first property to ship with both pieces in place.
