A new home for free Mulhacén Labs tools — starting with our print-quality QR code generator, now with no email required.
We've spun up a new home for our free tools at tools.mulhacenlabs.com — a dedicated satellite site for utilities that don't need to live inside the main studio site.
The first one to land there is our print-quality QR code generator. If you've used it before, you'll notice one thing missing: the email gate. No more signup form, no more "unlock to use." You go to the page, paste a URL, and download your QR code. Both SVG (for print) and PNG (for everywhere else) are available, optional logo embedding still works, and the high error-correction setting keeps your codes scannable even when a brand mark is sitting in the middle of them.
The tool is fully bilingual — pick English or Spanish — and runs entirely in the browser. Nothing leaves your device, no data is stored, and no account is needed.
Why move it? Two reasons. First, the email gate was friction that didn't earn its keep — a free tool should feel free. Second, the new tools subdomain gives us room to grow: more dev and AI utilities are on the way, each with their own articles and use cases. The two blog posts about the QR generator have moved over there too, where they belong with the tool itself.
