Hospedo: Building the Foundation for Commission-Free Bookings

The property configuration system that powers Hospedo's direct booking platform is now live.

Spanish hospitality property owners pay 15-25% commission on every booking through platforms like Booking.com and Airbnb. For a rural casa rural doing steady business, that's thousands of euros lost every year. Hospedo is our answer: a direct booking system that lets guests book straight from the property's own website, at no commission cost to the owner.

Today we completed the foundation that makes Hospedo work — the property configuration system. Each property is defined by a single configuration file that captures everything: room types with photos and amenities, seasonal pricing with automatic multipliers, contact details, and check-in logistics. Adding a new property to the platform means creating one file and uploading photos. No code changes, no deployments, no waiting.

The pricing engine handles the complexity that property owners shouldn't have to think about. A guest booking a stay that spans from late June into July automatically gets the correct rate for each night — shoulder season pricing for the June nights, high season for July. The system calculates per-night breakdowns, totals, and handles all the edge cases that come with seasonal rate changes.

Our first client, Casa de Dona Concha in Ugijar, Granada, is configured with 8 room types across 11 bedrooms, three seasonal rate tiers, and trilingual support in Spanish, English, and Dutch. From here, we build out the guest-facing booking flow, notifications, and admin dashboard — all powered by this configuration layer.
