Bookings that hold the room only for guests who pay

Chasing bank transfers is one of the quiet frustrations of running a small property. A guest asks to book, you hold the room for them, and then you wait — sometimes for a payment that never comes, while the dates sit blocked and other guests move on. The new booking flow in Hospedaje is built to end that.

A booking now moves through clear stages. When a guest requests a stay, an owner who prefers to look things over first sees it marked Solicitada — a new request waiting for their approval. One tap approves it, and the guest is sent a payment link that is valid for a set holding window (24 hours by default). Once they pay, the booking becomes Confirmada and everyone is notified. Owners who would rather not check each request can switch approval off entirely: the request goes straight to payable, the guest gets their link immediately, and the owner is simply told it happened.

The important part is what happens when payment doesn't arrive. The room is held only for the length of that window. If the guest hasn't paid by the time it runs out, the booking is cancelled automatically and the dates are released back to the calendar — no manual cleanup, no forgotten holds quietly blocking availability. And a booking is never marked confirmed on a promise: if a payment attempt fails or the payment service can't be reached, the booking stays exactly where it was, still holding, still waiting, never falsely confirmed.

This is the engine behind Hospedaje's "your bookings, your bank" approach, and it's built to work the same way whichever payment method a property eventually uses. For now, properties that collect payment manually keep working exactly as before — the new flow only turns on once online payment is switched on for a property, which arrives with the next step in the payments rollout.
